Gita is the celestial song, Sri Krishna has given to Arjuna at the onset of the Mahabharatha yuddha at Kurukshetra about 5000 years before. The purpose of the song is to give the world the knowledge obtained from all the vedas and upanishads in a nutshell, which is as vast as the Universe! Arjuna was just an excuse to deliver the message. It is intended to the people who want to benefit out of it.
